All-Star Family-Run Business of the Year 2022
O’Donnell Design Ltd has achieved AIBF 2021-1014 All-Ireland All-Star Family Run Business Of The Year 2022 Accreditation. The company’s west Cork roots date back to 1902 when John Reen, crafted a chair from a local ash tree.
In the 1970s the company made a range of teak and oak furniture which was exported to the USA, Canada and the UK. During this time the company perfected the Danish system of furniture making which is still the company standard today.
For the last 25 years the company has been focused on hotel bedroom furniture where it has developed an outstanding reputation for quality and service. O’Donnell Design Ltd is hereby included in the AIBF Register Of Irish Business Excellence for a third consecutive year.

The accreditation gives us the opportunity to reflect on the journey of our brand, our achievements so far, our continuous growth in the industry and the great relationships we hold with each of our clients within the industry.
About O'Donnell Design Ltd
O’Donnell Design has built a reputation for excellence in the manufacture and installation of high-quality bespoke hotel furniture for the hospitality, residential and marine sectors in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
The west Cork business boasts an extensive portfolio, having worked with many hotel chains, including Marriott, Crowne Plaza, DoubleTree, Hilton, Guoman, Ramada, Apex, Clarion, Dalata and Principal Hayley. They have also worked with major independent and boutique brands including Stay City and Wembley. In the marine sector, their client list includes Carnival Cruises – which boasts some of O’Donnell’s finest furniture.
The tradition of furniture manufacture is now in its fourth generation of the O’Donnell family, with the existing company trading since the 1970s. Over the years O’Donnell Furniture has become a market leader in case good manufacture, project management and furniture fit-out in both new build hotels and hotel refurbishments
O’Donnell Furniture works in partnership with the industry’s leading architects, designers, main contractors and hotel operators to ensure that projects are completed on time and within agreed budgets. O’Donnell’s 60,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility is equipped with state of the art machinery and is staffed by highly skilled craftsmen. They are accredited with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and its manufacturing processes meet the standard for severe use applications specified in FIRA 6250.
