Donna McGee is a self-taught, award-winning landscape & abstract contemporary artist. She has been working from her studio in Dublin for over 20 years. Observing and capturing the restless elemental forces of the Irish landscape and celebrating its timeless beauty is central to her work. She is drawn to the allure of stormy skies, vibrant sunsets, all the while observing the transformative effects of the ever-changing light.
She aims to find and express the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her favourite medium is oil and she enjoys using palette knives, these allow for the creation of rich, tactile texture resulting in a dynamic and raw energy. With successful solo shows, she also participates in a number of group exhibitions including Ireland’s premier Arts Fair, Art Source where she has enjoyed great success. Her paintings can be found in many collections across the world.
She is a member of Visual Arts Ireland, The Dublin Art Society and other social networking groups.
