As humans, we are hard-wired for connection.
According to scientist Matthew Lieberman we are – as the data suggests…
“Profoundly shaped by our social environment and suffer greatly when our social bonds are threatened or severed.”
Lieberman adds: “We may not like the fact that we are wired such that our well-being depends on our connections with others, but the facts are the facts”.
Both employers and employees are now much more aware of connection and wellbeing in the workplace – having spent most of the last two years in remote setups.
According to Business All-Star Accredited Holistic Life Coach and Corporate Wellness Trainer Dolores Andrew, how we connect and relate to one another depends on our level of awareness…
The Celtic Soul essence founder says we either connect consciously (with awareness) or unconsciously (when we are triggered by the actions of others).
Dolores has developed a pioneering framework for adopting a Conscious Connection through a 4 pillars approach.
The All-Ireland Business Foundation is delighted to share some key insights from the framework below…
Pillar 1 – Understanding Your HP (Human Potential)
Look at your MOS (Mental Operating System) and discover what change you need to incorporate to bring us the results that you want.
Use Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to look at the development of your ego, beliefs v perceptions, your sense of self and your need for belonging and connection.
Pillar 2 – Understanding Your EI (Emotional Intelligence)
Emotional intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict.
Become aware of your emotional triggers – remember that you have the power to become conscious of your choices.
Pillar 3 – Finding Your Why
You operate in different realms at the same time. You’re a spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical being at the same time.
When we identify our motivators, we learn powerful tools to avoid burnout and overwhelm – tools such as assertiveness and resilience align us with our purpose and show us where we want to go.
Pillar 4 – Setting Realistic Goals
To be in alignment with your best self implies all aspects of ourselves are in harmony and functioning well.
Align yourself with your purpose and achieve realistic goals by identifying the areas you need to focus on.
