Angela Cerriku of Original Ireland has achieved a Lifestyle Leader Accreditation in Fashion Design from the All-Ireland Business Foundation.

This is an independently verified standard mark for indigenous businesses, based on rigorous selection criteria.

The Accreditation is overseen by the prestigious All-Ireland Business Foundation, whose adjudication panel is chaired by Dr Briga Hynes of the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick and Kieran Ring, CEO of the Global Institute of Logistics.

Speaking on the Accreditation, Angela Cerriku says, We are over the moon excited to receive this Accreditation. It is a great validation of the hard work we have put into this business, and we are delighted to be recognised for it. We feel that this Accreditation will help to put our business on another level as it highlights what we do well - fashion! The Business All-Star Accreditation is important to us, as it lets the public know what our customers know which is, we make great, bespoke, fashion, and we do it well. We provide supreme quality fashion, with customer satisfaction.

Dr Hynes said the Accreditation, which is now held by over 450 firms, is needed by the thousands of small and medium businesses which operate to their own standards, but have nothing to measure them by.

“We evaluate a company’s background, trustworthiness and performance, and we speak to customers, employees and vendors. We also anonymously approach the company as a customer and report back on the experience. The business goes through at least two interviews and is scored on every part of the process against set metrics”, she says.

Angela Cerriku is an award-winning designer who graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design, Limerick Institute of Technology with a BA Honours Degree in Fashion Design in 2018.

The same year she proudly introduced her own label, Original Ireland to the Irish market.

While studying at Limerick Institute of Technology, she gained a lot of experience while working for 31 Chapel Lane Fashion House, Pearly Kiely Expressive Arts Theatre School and Celia Holman Lee model agency. Her role as a fashion coordinator and costume seamstress in these jobs enabled her to gain further insight into the fashion world.

Over the years, Angela has earned many awards and accolades. In 2015, her garment was selected for the Limerick School of Art and Design Exhibition. She was an award winner of the L’Oreal in 2017. Angela was amongst the top 5 finalists of the Project Young Designer, DCU Style in 2018.

Her designs were showcased in the Talent Unwrapped at LSAD for the graduation show in 2018. She was a top finalist of the L’Oreal Competition in 2019 and her designs were published in Collection magazine in September 2019.

Original Ireland is an Irish luxury fashion brand, imagined and created by Angela Cerriku in 2018. Angela had a vision of bringing handcrafted and custom made luxury to the boutique market at affordable prices.

The Limerick based company only sources raw materials locally from within Ireland and has an online store. After two years of operating successfully online, they opened the first customized boutique in Ennis Road, Limerick. Original Ireland stands for style, confidence and personal statement. All of their garments are designed locally in a fashion house. Quality and attention to detail are key for the brand.

The All-Ireland Business Foundation is a national body which accredits best-in-class Irish businesses as Business All-Stars. The Foundation also oversees the All-Ireland Business Summit while promoting peer dialogue amongst our members on an ongoing basis.
