A collaborative business model and a focus on development and training have paid dividends for Irish financial services provider Acorn Life DAC.
The Galway business recently announced that it has reached the significant milestone of €1 billion in funds under management thanks to strong business growth and investment performance.
Speaking to the All-Ireland Business Foundation, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Keith Butler said the Acorn team is proud of their achievement.
He said: “We have reached this important milestone by living and breathing the core principles of good business management and crucially, by developing our network of financial advisor partners.”
Acorn Life has built a strong reputation in the Financial Services industry for quality and service to its clients.
They are the only fully Irish owned life insurance company in the country and the first to achieve Business All-Star Accreditation.
Acorn Life was also the first life insurance company to achieve Guaranteed Irish Accreditation and also be the first financial services provider to win the prestigious Deloitte Best Managed Companies award for the last four years in a row.
Acorn’s collaborative business model works by training, developing, mentoring and partnering with financial advisors who are managing and developing their own financial services business.
Acorn operates the largest tied agency model in the domestic financial services market.
“Our mission statement is to empower ordinary people to achieve extraordinary results and we have brilliant examples all the way through our business,” said Head of Commercial Development at Acorn Life Mark O’Connor.
“Our agents are our business partners and Acorn gives them the tools and resources they need to become successful and valued financial advisors throughout the regions.”
Interestingly the majority of candidates who secure an agency with Acorn Life come from outside the financial services industry, however, they do have the attitude and attributes that Acorn requires.
“We look for candidates with a business-owner mindset,” he explained. “Generally, they will have run their own business previously, or have reached a stage in their life where they are now ready to do so.”
“Our ideal candidate will have a good natural market of networks and contacts and people will like and trust them. Our business philosophy is about making you the advisor of choice in your local community, town or region.”
“Acorn provides the environment, training, knowledge and support system that will allow you to achieve this. We are market leaders in taking skilled candidates, even from outside the industry, and giving them the opportunity to create an incredible financial services business”.
Acorn Life has also recently announced a new partnership with Mercer Global Investments Europe LTD in a move to further enhance its investment fund range.
“Our investment management approach is based on a clear vision that the best talent is not confined to one firm and location,” Mark added.
“Instead, we want the freedom and flexibility to access the skills of some of the best investment managers around the globe to help our clients achieve their financial goals”.
Acorn Life recently achieved its third in a row Business All-Star Accreditation from the All-Ireland Business Foundation.
Mark said that The Business All-Star Accreditation has really resonated with Acorn Life’s clients, giving them confidence and trust in their service offering.
He said: “We see it as a stamp of quality and trust in our brand as well as acknowledgement of the hard work of our brilliant team of advisors in delivering a premium service to our clients”.
As part of their strategic plan, Acorn Life is expanding their nationwide branch network and are actively recruiting for new financial advisors for 2022.
